About Bijou
Born and raised in Southern California. Ranked consistently among the top ten best juniors in California, reached the #1 spot at the National Public Parks in the 18’s and under. Played the #1 position on the tennis team at the California Baptist University & Texas State University where he reached an All-American status for 4 straight years. Henri’s other achievements include winning seven first class series tournaments in France and reaching the semifinals at the Gaston Open in Alabama in 1977.
After playing the professional tour, Henri visited over 33 countries while performing his Bijou Tennis Show at ceremonies such as the opening day for the Austrailian, French and US Open, as well as private shows for clubs and ATP & WTA tournaments around the world. Sponsored by famous brand names such as Adidas, Mercedes, Channel, Dunlop, IBM, Penn, Puma & Ford, among others. Some of Henri’s highlights while playing on the ATP tour are: Beating Luis Tavares, a Brazilian player ranked 250 in the world, beating the #5 best ranked player from Belgium, as well as the #4 best ranked French player.
Some of Henri’s most remarkable exhibitions have been with & against players like Edberg, Gerulaitis, Noah, McEnroe, Nastase, Pecci, Becker, and Wilander. Henri holds certifications from several professional teaching associations such as a P1 status with the USPTA for 27 years. In addition Henri has maintained his PRO status position in the Professional Tennis Registry for over 10 years.
